The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, recently opened a new airport in Ayodhya. This airport is named Maharishi Valmiki International Airport.

The Prime Minister was happy to name the airport after Maharishi Valmiki, who wrote the Ramayana, a famous Indian epic. He mentioned that this airport will help people visit Ayodhya and the new grand Ram temple. Initially, the airport can serve 1 million passengers each year, and this will increase to 6 million after further expansion.

The first phase of this modern airport was built for over 1450 crore rupees. Its terminal covers 6500 square meters and can handle 1 million passengers yearly. The terminal’s design is inspired by the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Inside, there are local artworks and scenes from Lord Ram’s life.

The terminal also focuses on environmental friendliness, with features like energy-saving lighting, systems for collecting rainwater, and a solar power plant. These features aim for a high environmental rating. The airport will help more people travel to this area, which could boost tourism, business, and jobs.
