Baburam Yadav, a 74-year-old resident of Muradabad, has been chosen for the Padma Shri award in 2024 for his brass artwork on brass utensils in the Nagphani village of Muradabad.
Having received various awards earlier, including the State Award in 1985 and the National Award in 1992, Baburam is known for his intricate metal engraving work since 1962, learned from his guru Amar Singh.
He has expressed gratitude to PM Modi and is delighted about the recognition. He has also thanked PM Modi for continuously honoring metal artisans, hoping it will keep the art alive.
