Mumbai: Maharashtra : The Maharashtra Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation (MPBCDC) in Mumbai has signed agreements with 20 prominent organizations in the state to create employment and self-employment opportunities through skill training over three years, launching the “MAHA-EDGE” initiative.
The inauguration of the “MAHA-EDGE” program, focusing on entrepreneurship development and increasing employment, took place at the Sahyadri Guest House.
Officials from the Department of Social Justice, representatives from educational institutions, and over 20 stakeholders were present at the event.
MAHA-EDGE, a joint initiative of the MPBCDC and “Mahapreet,” aims to provide skill training to benefit two lakh individuals from targeted communities, with 1.5 lakh people receiving various skill trainings to improve their employment prospects.
Furthermore, 50,000 beneficiaries will be trained in entrepreneurship development programs, with a goal of fostering over 100 startups in emerging sectors, supported by both the central and state governments.
