Congress is not ready to give more seats to DMK in Tamilnadu

Tamilnadu : There is a deadlock between DMK and Congress over seat-sharing in Tamil Nadu, causing tension.

Congress contested nine Lok Sabha seats in alliance with the Secular Progressive Alliance led by DMK in the 2019 general elections.

However, this time Congress is not ready to give more than seven seats to DMK, while Congress wants to contest on 16 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

DMK has suggested that Congress can be given more than seven seats. Earlier, DMK district secretaries informed the party leadership that Congress should be given fewer seats due to its weaker presence on the ground.

However, state Congress leadership hopes that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will ask DMK chief to allocate more seats to the party.
