Chandigarh’s mayor, Manoj Sonkar, stepped down from his position.
This development came on the same day the newly elected Mayor, Manoj Sonkar, resigned from the post following allegations of poll rigging and malpractices.
This move comes ahead of a Supreme Court hearing on allegations of irregularities in the recent mayoral elections.
According to Chandigarh BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra, Sonkar has already submitted his resignation to the municipal commissioner. Malhotra also criticized the Congress and AAP, accusing them of deceiving the public without forming an alliance.
He suggested that their actions would soon be revealed to the public.(pti).
