Prabha Atre (13 September 1932 – 13 January 2024) was an Indian classical vocalist from the Kirana gharana. She was awarded all three of the Padma Awards by the Government of India.

She died after experiencing breathing difficulty in the early hours and was taken to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital. She died from cardiac arrest before reaching the hospital. She had  a cardiac arrest in her sleep at her residence. “She was rushed to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, where she was declared dead at 5.30 a.m.,” said a medical source She died on 13 January 2024, at the age of 91.

 

Her leaving the world is very painful, Indian music will always be indebted to her, I pay my heartfelt tribute to her, and may God give strength to her family to bear this loss,” said Devendra Fadnavis while expressing grief over her demise.
