In major cities, there are specialized hospitals with administrative and medical departments operating together. Consequently, there is no need to specifically allocate administrative tasks to doctors. The government is considering dividing these hospitals into two separate departments in state-run hospitals. This information was shared by Health Minister Hasan Mushrif in the state assembly during the question-answer session.
During the discussion, member Subhash Thote raised this query. Members Nana Patole, Dr. Rajendra Shingane, Anil Deshmukh, Pratibha Dhanorkar, Amit Deshmukh, and Praniti Shinde also participated in the discussion. Minister Mushrif mentioned that during the COVID period, Chandrapur hospital has purchased medical literature and related items through a web portal. The district committee, under the chairmanship of the district collectors, had been formed to make emergency COVID response plan purchases. Through this committee, purchases have also been made at the Chandrapur hospital. Any irregularities in this regard will be investigated.
Minister Mushrif further informed that the Maharashtra Public Service Commission has been directed to fill vacancies for Group 1 and Group 2 positions in the medical education department’s hospitals in the state by April 2024. Moreover, the recruitment process for more than 5600 vacancies in the Group 3 category is ongoing through the TCES company. The orders are expected to be completed by the end of December. Recruitment for Group 4 positions will also commence soon through external agencies, as per the information provided.
