PCMC: Gang of Thieves from Tamil Nadu Busted; Wakad Police Seize 60 Mobile Phones and 14 Laptops
Pimpri Chinchwad: A squad from Wakad police station has apprehended three individuals from Tamil Nadu involved in mobile and laptop thefts, seizing mobile phones and laptops worth Rs. 14 lakh 30 thousand. The thieves, who had rented a room in Pimpri Chinchwad, used to enter homes through unlocked doors and steal mobile phones and laptops. Their arrest has led to the revelation of 23 crimes.
The arrested individuals are identified as Soundararajan Govindan (age 21, resident of Madanur, Ambur Taluk, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu), Gunasekar Sankar (age 21), and Tamilarsan Madesh (age 21, currently residing in Adinath Nagar, Bhosari, originally from Tamil Nadu).
Due to an increase in incidents of thefts committed by entering homes through unlocked doors in the city, the Wakad police were conducting investigations. They noticed in the CCTV footage that the thieves, after committing a crime within the jurisdiction of the Wakad police station, were seen taking a rickshaw from Kalewadi Phata towards Pimpri.
