From January 15 to 17, 2024, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, will visit Meghalaya and Assam.
On January 15, she will open the Meghalaya Games at PA Sangma Stadium in Tura.
On January 16, she will talk to Self Help Group members at Baljek Airport, Tura, and start the building of a new Integrated Administration Complex in Tura through a video link. She will also speak at Mawphlang and open the improved Rongjeng Mangsang Adokgre Road and Mairang Ranigodown Azra Road online. Additionally, she will start the Shillong Peak Ropeway project and tourist accommodations in Kongthong, Mawlyngot, and Kudengrim villages online. In the evening, there will be a special reception for her by the Meghalaya Government at Raj Bhavan, Shillong.
On January 17, she will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Karbi Youth Festival at Taralangso, Diphu, in Assam.
