Chandigadh : A group of three government ministers suggested purchasing pulses, maize, and cotton from farmers at fixed prices for five years, as part of a new plan discussed during a meeting with farmer representatives in Chandigarh.
After over four hours of talks- Union Minister Piyush Goyal described the idea as “innovative” and “out-of-the-box.”
He mentioned that the farmer leaders will review and decide on the government’s proposals by Monday morning.
