MUMBAI: Sanjay Raut, a key leader of the Shiv Sena, has criticized the BJP, suggesting that they are exhibiting authoritarian tendencies.
He warned that if things continue this way, the BJP might collapse in one day.
Raut emphasized the importance of preserving democracy and highlighted the need for unity between the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the Vanchit Bahujan Samaj Party, with a focus on Prakash Ambedkar’s role.
Speaking to the media, Raut accused the BJP of attempting to undermine democracy.
He stated, “There should only be one party, which is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). We will eliminate other parties, dissolve regional parties, and this was the language of BJP’s national president JP Nadda.
But now they need other parties to win elections. Many smaller parties are being lured to break away from us and join the BJP.
The BJP’s efforts to destroy democracy in the country are evident, and this is the thought process of Modi and Shah. This is their agenda, and we have come together in opposition to it. We have respected the marginalized community and stood by them. We will uphold the Constitution.”
He further warned, “The BJP wants to destroy democracy in the country; they want to destroy freedom. This is the thought process of Modi and Shah. The BJP’s ideology is not in line with the Constitution of the country. What Bavankule is saying is what they have been told by their fathers, a few years ago, JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, also made similar statements. Today, other parties need to break other parties to win elections.”
Raut challenged, “No matter what you say, it cannot be ended, but it cannot happen. There is democracy in this country. After 2024, your party will become Congress-like. Our people have decided that one night, the BJP will end. If all the legislators decide, the BJP will end in one night.”
