The conversion of ST bus depots to MADC – response to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s invitation, agreement worth 600 crores.

Nagpur, Dec 18: In a significant move concerning the vital components of the state’s public transport service, the conversion of ST bus depots by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has been invited, as stated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Responding to this invitation, a consensus agreement was reached today in the presence of Chief Minister Shri. Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis between the State Transport Authority (ST) and the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

This agreement, which took place at the Vidhan Bhavan, was attended by Uday Samant, Minister of Industries and Chairman of MIDC, Parag Jain-Nainuttia, Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, Vivek Bhimanwar, Deputy Chairman and Administrative Director of ST, along with senior officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and the ST.

Under the ‘Hindu hriday samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Clean and Beautiful Bus Depot Campaign,’ a beautification and refurbishment drive for 193 bus depots across the state will take place. A consensus agreement of 600 crores between MIDC and ST Corporation has been established for this purpose.
