Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala launched an updated version of the AHIDF Scheme and unveiled a radio jingle for it in New Delhi.
He mentioned that the scheme, initially started during the COVID period, has been revised and will now run for another 3 years.
The Cabinet recently approved an increased budget of ₹29610 crore instead of the previous ₹15000 crore. The scheme aims to support dairy cooperatives by offering a 3% interest subsidy and credit guarantee support.
This will help them upgrade their processing infrastructure, benefiting numerous milk producers across the country.
At the event, various industry associations, NDDB, dairy cooperatives, FPOs, and officials from North Eastern States were present. Several entities, such as ABIS Export Private Limited, Dishala Livelihood Producer Company Limited, and Amba Feed, shared their plans to invest in infrastructure projects under AHIDF.
The scheme offers a 3% interest subsidy for up to 8 years and credit guarantee cover for up to 25% of the term loan, with no ceiling on the loan amount. It also allows online application through the portal
